Class teacher: Miss H Burns
Teaching Assistant: Mrs J Lee- Mornings
Mrs A Wellington- Afternoons
Welcome to year 4! I hope you all had a great summer and are ready to start the new school year. We have many exciting topics to learn throughout this year.
Here is some useful information to help keep you organised this half term:
PE -this is currently on a Tuesday and Thursday. On these days, children are to wear black or grey jogging bottoms and trainers with their normal school jumper.
Mrs Lee teaches Spanish and PE on a Thursday afternoon.
We want our children to be happy at school and ready for learning. Please help them with the following:
READING-the children all have a take-home reader to practice and improve their reading fluency. Please encourage them to develop good habits and hear them read on a regular basis. Thank you.
HOMEWORK and Spellings-this goes out on a Friday night and needs to be returned by the following Tuesday. The children receive a piece of English and a piece of Maths work. Children will also get spellings to practise which are also assigned to their Spelling Shed log in too. Homework is linked to previous work done in class but if your child is struggling and you cannot help, ask them to bring it in and have a chat with us.
We hope your child has an enjoyable and happy year with us. Please encourage them to share their worries and problems with us so we can help to sort them out.
If you have any problems or questions please do not hesitate to contact me!

The children did a fantastic job when working together in Design technology to design and make a working torch.
Year 4 had a special visitor in class! They learnt lots about the digestive system, were introduced to Harold the giraffe and we spoke about all the things that make us unique.
Children made their own switch to use in a circuit in Science.
Children loved learning all about Roman numerals in maths. They created Roman numerals using sticks and straws and we also learnt a song to help us remember.
