Our School Vision: Our goal is to produce members of society who are Considerate to everyone they meet, who have a Co-operative approach to life and who are Confident in each other and in themselves to strive for the very best that they can be.
We aim to achieve this by using Christian values as our guide and helping them to grow within a caring and inclusive community
How Computing fits into the vision: Early use of digital technology improves children's language skills and promotes social development and creativity. Having a deeper understanding of technology also helps children to be better equipped and confident with accessing other areas of the curriculums. It is our vision to encourage and interest our children through the use of computing as a teaching tool. We want to equip our children with the skills and knowledge that they will use throughout their lives. Technology can bring children together in co-operative efforts and enhance student experiences.
Our Computing Subject Leader: Hello, my name is Mrs Livsey and I lead Computing. I am responsible for overseeing the computing curriculum and monitoring the learning and teaching of computing.
Our Computing Curriculum: Computing is a foundation subject. To ensure continuity and progression throughout our computing curriculum and to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum, we follow the purple mash scheme of work. Lessons are discrete although children also have an opportunity to develop their skills in a cross-curricular manner. Online safety is taught along side each computing area to better prepare children for the dangers of the online world and equip children with the knowledge to use technology safely.
Our Computing intent: At St Bartholomew's Primary School, our intent is to deliver high quality computing lessons to children so that they become responsible, confident, competent and creative users of information and communication technology.
