Year 3
Miss Kitchin - Class Teacher
Mrs Blears - Teaching Assistant
P.E. is taught on Monday and Tuesday
Please ensure your child attends school wearing their PE uniform on these days.
Reading
Please encourage your child to spend 5-10 minutes, a few times a week, reading their home reading book. Please record any reading that has taken place at home in their reading record. You can help by questioning them about what they have read including talking about the characters, making predictions about what might happen next and asking the children to recall specific information. Once a child has finished their book, it can be placed in our reading basket in the classroom to be changed.
- Homework
- Spellings
- Each week we have a different spelling focus, which is fully accessible on Spelling Shed.
- Maths
- Please practise Timetables using Timetable Rockstars
- Activities
- A range of activities will be provided at the start of each half-term. Please make sure one activity is completed, from the activity board, each week. This can be found if you scroll down.
Homework is given out on a Friday and should be returned by the following Tuesday.
I hope all children settle well in to their first year of Key Stage Two and enjoy their time in Year 3!
If you have any problems or questions do not hesitate to contact me!
Best wishes,
Miss Kitchin

For our Roman unit of work, the children created fantastic Roman shields for their homework. They put a lot of effort and hard work into creating these wonderful pieces of art.
For their homework, Year 3 were asked to design and create a volcano, then we used vinegar and bicarbinate of soda to imitate the eruption of a real volcano.
We visitied Whitworth Heritage Museum to learn about The Whitworth Doctors. We all had great fun trying on splints, creating medicines from herbs and using a blacksmith's anvil.
Families came to join us for a Crafternoon and we all had a fantastic time being creative. We created melted snowman biscuits, seasonal calendars, silouettes and weaving patterns.
