This year we've not been able to have a full sports day so each class has enjoyed their own mini-sports day.  All the points were added up and the winning Tree-House Team was - SYCAMORE - well done to the GREEN team!

We made our way to St Bartholomew's Church to come together in Celebration of Easter. Each class prepared drama, song and art work to represent all the parts that make up why  Easter is so important.

Easter Egg Competition

We have had some fantastic entries for our Easter Egg Competition.Children from all classes entered and brought some wonderful creations from Humpty-Dumpty to Penguins on Parade.

Our independent judge, Mrs Reilly, found it extremely difficult to pick the winners from each class. The winners were:

World Book Day 2018

What amazing costumes! Our children had a fabulous day dressing up as their favourite character -  staff too! The classes took part in learning activities relating to their book character.

Christmas Production - 2017 - A Midwife Crisis

A packed audience at the Riverside in Whitworth watch a fantastic production of our nativity performance 'A Midwife Crisis'.  All classes contributed.

Athletics Competition at Fearns

On Monday 17th November, we attended an athletics competition at Fearns. With our fantastic mixed 5/6 boys and girls, we came 5th by only 2 points! The children had an amazing time taking part and had lots of fun! Well done!'

Dodgeball Competition

St Bartholomew's had a On Monday 17th November, we attended an athletics competition at Fearns. With our fantastic mixed 5/6 boys and girls, we came 5th by only 2 points! The children had an amazing time taking part and had lots of fun! Well done!' dodgeball competition - coming 2nd in the qualifier with14 points, winning 4 and losing only 2! We are now through to the finals on Friday, we are super proud of our dodgeball team as they have worked as a team and competed so enthusiastically.

Diwali Celebration

This week St Bartholomew's have been learning all about Diwali. To teach us a little bit more about the Diwali Celebration, Mrs Thoppae (a parent from school & PTFA) held an assembly informing us all about how the Hindu's celebrate all over India. Mrs Thoppae worked very hard for our assembly and we are extremely grateful that she took the time to invite us into her life of Hinduism, showing us just how amazing and colourful Diwali can be, in India and the UK. To give our thanks, our G.I.F.T team held prayers in hope that all Hindu's have a Happy Diwali.

MacMillan Coffee Morning

 Our Macmillan Coffee Morning was a great success - raising £334.65! Thank you to our School Council pupils and our Year 6 for organising the event and helping out! Another thank you to all parents/carers who came along.'

Year 5/6 Mixed Tennis Red Competition

This week St Barts entered their first competition this year, competing in Year 5/6 Mixed Tennis Red Competition. We are incredibly proud of their efforts coming 5th! Practise pays off!

Clubs

Here are a few snap shots of our clubs this term.... Crafts are getting creative with their painting skills, Cookery are spicing it up with their wraps, athletics are getting sporty practising their long jump and Drama is preparing for their upcoming performance! All this exciting in just one week

Charlotte's Web
A theatre performance of Charlotte's Web left the whole school in laughter. An excellent performance was given and we are sure to be seeing them again! 

' After a lovely summer spending quality time with friends and families, it's now time to get back to work! Our children have spent the day having some educational fun with their new teachers and enjoying time settling into their new classes with friends. Our helpful Year 6 have buddied up with our new little receptions ensuring they are finding their way around and having lots of fun. We are all excited to see what this year holds!'
